Little bits

Little bits

I love baking bread. The effort is well worth it as homemade bread is so much better then the artesian breads you buy in grocery stores. Today I was playing around with the no-knead bread recipe and added 1 1/2 heads of garlic to the dough! It turned out pretty well and I'm looking forward to enjoying the leftover bread tomorrow evening. I've decided to slice it, drizzle it with a little olive oil and grill it until it is nice, crisp and toasty - the perfect garlic bread with the garlic in the bread! It will make a nice accompaniment to my homemade gnocchi.

I followed the no-knead bread recipe using 1 ½ cups whole-wheat flour and 1 ½ cups ap-flour and added in 1 ½ heads worth of garlic cloves after the initial 18 hours. Used wheat bran for dusting. Next time I will cut the cloves in quarters before folding them into the dough.
