With out a doubt this must be one of the lowest calorie recipes Ina Garten has ever shared. To make it a bit healthier and even lower in calorie I used soy creamer in place of the heavy cream.
White Hot Chocolate Over Frozen Berries
1 ¼ pounds white chocolate, coarsely chopped
2 ½ cups heavy cream
2 T vanilla
2 ¼ pounds frozen mixed berries
Combine the chocolate, heavy cream, and the vanilla in a heat-proof bowl and set it over a pan of simmering water until the chocolate melts.
About 5 minutes before serving, remove the berries from the freezer and place them on individual serving plates. Ladle the warm chocolate sauce over the berries and serve.
Note:
I found it best to take the berries out of the freezer at least 15-20 minutes before serving.
This recipe makes enough for 8 guests so keep that in mind if you are serving dessert for 2.
You can use store bought frozen berries or make your own. Spread fresh summer berries in a single layer on a parchment covered baking sheet. Place in freezer. Once frozen place in plastic freezer bags.
